Numerical Jordan-Wigner approach for two dimensional spin systems
We present a numerical self consistent variational approach based on the
Jordan-Wigner transformation for two dimensional spin systems. We apply it to
the study of the well known quantum (S=1/2) antiferromagnetic XXZ system as a
function of the easy-axis anisotropy \Delta on a periodic square lattice. For
the SU(2) case the method converges to a N\'eel ordered ground state
irrespectively of the input density profile used and in accordance with other
studies. This shows the potential utility of the proposed method to investigate
more complicated situations like frustrated or disordered systems.Comment: Revtex, 8 pages, 4 figure
Network Optimization for DHT-based Applications
International audienceP2P platforms have been criticized because of the heavy strain that some P2P services can inflict on costly inter-domain links of network operators. It is therefore necessary to develop network optimization schemes for controlling the load generated by P2P platforms on an operator network. Previous focus on network optimization has been mostly on centralized tracker-based systems. However, in recent years multiple DHT-based P2P networks are widely deployed due to their scalability and fault tolerance, and these networks have even been considered as platforms for commercial services..Thereby, finding network optimization for DHT-based P2P applications has potentially large practical impacts. In this paper, we present THash, a simple scheme to implement an effective distributed network optimization for DHT systems. THash is based on standard DHT put/get semantics and utilizes a triple hash method to guide the DHT clients sharing resources with peers in proper domains. We have implemented THash in a major P2P application (PPLive) by using the standard ALTO/P4P protocol as the network information source. We conducted realistic experiments over the network and observed that compared with Native DHT, THash only generated 45.5\% and 35.7\% of inter-PID and inter-AS traffic, and at the same time shortened the average downloading time by 13.8\% to 22.1\%
Chern-Simons Theory for Magnetization Plateaus of Frustrated - Heisenberg model
The magnetization curve of the two-dimensional spin-1/2 -
Heisenberg model is investigated by using the Chern-Simons theory under a
uniform mean-field approximation. We find that the magnetization curve is
monotonically increasing for , where the system under zero
external field is in the antiferromagnetic N\'eel phase. For larger ratios of
, various plateaus will appear in the magnetization curve. In
particular, in the disordered phase, our result supports the existence of the
plateau and predicts a new plateau at .
By identifying the onset ratio for the appearance of the 1/2-plateau
with the boundary between the N\'eel and the spin-disordered phases in zero
field, we can determine this phase boundary accurately by this mean-field
calculation. Verification of these interesting results would indicate a strong
connection between the frustrated antiferromagnetic system and the quantum Hall
system.Comment: RevTeX 4, 4 pages, 3 EPS figure
Light-Front Approach for Pentaquark Strong Decays
Assuming the two diquark structure for the pentaquark state as advocated in
the Jaffe-Wilczek model, we study the strong decays of light and heavy
parity-even pentaquark states using the light-front quark model in conjunction
with the spectator approximation. The narrowness of the Theta width is ascribed
to the p-wave configuration of the diquark pair. Taking the Theta width as a
benchmark, we estimate the rates of the strong decays Xi_{3/2}-- to Xi- pi-,
Sigma- K-, Sigma_{5c}0 to D_s- p, D_{s0}*- p and Xi_{5c}0 to D_s- Sigma+,
D_{s0}^{*-} Sigma+ with Sigma_{5c} Xi_{5c} being antisextet charmed pentaquarks
and D_{s0}* a scalar strange charmed meson. The ratio of Gamma(P_c to Baryon
D_{s0}*)/Gamma(P_c to Baryon D_s) is very useful for verifying the parity of
the antisextet charmed pentaquark P_c. It is expected to be of order unity for
an even parity P_c and much less than one for an odd parity pentaquark.Comment: 24 pages, 2 figure
Direct Measurements of the Branching Fractions for and and Determinations of the Form Factors and
The absolute branching fractions for the decays and
are determined using singly
tagged sample from the data collected around 3.773 GeV with the
BES-II detector at the BEPC. In the system recoiling against the singly tagged
meson, events for and events for decays are observed. Those yield
the absolute branching fractions to be and . The
vector form factors are determined to be
and . The ratio of the two form
factors is measured to be .Comment: 6 pages, 5 figure
Search for the Lepton Flavor Violation Processes and
The lepton flavor violation processes and are
searched for using a sample of 5.8 events collected with
the BESII detector. Zero and one candidate events, consistent with the
estimated background, are observed in and
decays, respectively. Upper limits on the branching ratios are determined to be
and at the 90% confidence level (C.L.).Comment: 9 pages, 2 figure
The pole in
Using a sample of 58 million events recorded in the BESII detector,
the decay is studied. There are conspicuous
and signals. At low mass, a large
broad peak due to the is observed, and its pole position is determined
to be - MeV from the mean of six analyses.
The errors are dominated by the systematic errors.Comment: 15 pages, 6 figures, submitted to PL

Based on a sample of 5.8X 10^7 J/psi events taken with the BESII detector,
the branching fractions of J/psi--> 2(pi+pi-)eta and J/psi-->3(pi+pi-)eta are
measured for the first time to be (2.26+-0.08+-0.27)X10^{-3} and
(7.24+-0.96+-1.11)X10^{-4}, respectively.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figure
